robot in search of meaning

2011
Intentionally rough, the robot is made from an old open grained piece of plywood that I found on the rubbish.

The shape of the robot is inspired by my ordinary Japanese light fitting, which has an intriguing shape. As I drew the robots arms, intending to just have two, I couldn't decide but as I looked I realized that it worked having many arms. Just like a human who has to try many things with their life to see what works, this robot has to try and try to see what he can do.
